Asa healthcare administrator, my responsibility in performanceevaluation and improvement entails managing and coordinating broadefforts of the facility to make certain that quality improvement (QI)and performance management (PM) programs are established andadministered on the basis of well researched data. In decisionmaking, I ensure that performance evaluation and improvement programsare centered and supported to enhance program and operationalefficacy. Research focuses on developing training programs whichcenter on making sure that the staffs attain the requiredimprovements giving precedence to health matters. On support, I offercoordination and evaluation of the effects of system improvements oncommunity health.

Themain responsibility in budgeting/reimbursement entails developing,implementing, and directing the budgeting and reimbursement programsin the facility. Other responsibilities include evaluating, planning,as well as preparing strategies related to cost reimbursement(Stockburger, 1988).

Ahealthcare administrator is basically the business man in a hospitalsetting (Arnold, 2010). As the administrator, I am responsible fordecision making and directing strategic planning in order to generatea direction and vision for the facility moving ahead. I work togetherwith medical staff and boards to ensure the goals of the organizationmatch with the needs of the community and the set budget.

Themost pressing function for my role in the organization is budgetingand reimbursement. The reason behind this is that the function isusually complex. Making sure that the budget aligns with all theactivities being done in the organization to ensure smooth running.

Themost significant activities or practices linked with budgeting andreimbursement include developing, implementing, and directing thebudgeting and reimbursement programs in the facility. Otherresponsibilities include evaluating, planning, as well as preparingstrategies related to cost reimbursement. As the healthcareadministrator, I usually take part in all these practices to ensuresmooth running of the organization.

Whiledoing budgeting and reimbursement, it is essential to implement plansin order to lower costs and at the same time, enhance quality of care(Institute of Medicine, 2001). This is a quite challenging functionfor any individual.

Whiledoing performance evaluation and improvement, the most challengingaspect is how to measure performance. In a healthcare facility, theworkforce has different responsibilities and measuring how well suchresponsibilities are performed is quite challenging.

Strategicplanning usually involves decision making processes and directingstrategic planning Stockburger, 1988). In most cases, decision makingare quite difficult especially in an organization where one has toinvolve different people in order to come into a conclusion. In theorganization, various people are involved in decision makingconcerning strategic planning and this is rather challenging.

Inorder to address the challenges involved in budgeting andreimbursement, I involve various experts in the organization whoassist in giving ideas of how the facility can lower costs and at thesame time enhance quality of care.

Concerningperformance evaluation and improvement, I have put measures in placeto ensure that every staff is accounts for their performance in aweekly basis. The staffs are issued with form where they are supposedto fill the work completed and what have been achieved for that week.By review these forms, the administrator is able to know whatmeasures to take so as to enhance performance.

Whilemaking decisions concerning strategic planning, I involve variouspersonnel in the organization. Involving them ensures that they donot resist to any decision made in the facility.
