Themission of Olive Health Center (OHC) is to provide the best healthservices to the community it serves , promote physical wellness,relieve any form of suffering and swiftly restore health in thesafest and humane manner possible .It is achieved through a costeffective practice of advising patients on the responsible healthpractices. As an institution dedicated to a sincere commitment inachieving its mission it is guided by the following core values:quality, human dignity, access, impact and compassion. The vision of(OLH) is recognizable as a center of medical excellence and healthcare institution in the region. It will be achieved by providinghigh-quality care that is in accordance with the value systems.
Inan effort to integrate the mission statements and vision of theorganization, the management strives to instill the desired workethic among its staff ascertaining that they are according to thewishes and desires of the management.In every department of theorganization, excellence is required, and complacency is at zerotolerance. Whoever is found to go contrary to this expectation isprofessionally advised to revisit the mission and vision statementsof the organization.None is under exclusion from this code ofconduct.
Theorganization` s culture sources from the core values stated at thecommencement of the interview.In a bid to serve quality medicalattention, the organization has had to commit itself to upholding thevalues it drew up in the initial stages of its establishment.Thisculture of profound excellence depends on how much effort the staffput in ensuring that they stay in the confines of the values withoutcreating a distant between their actions and the values.Managementhas provided a conducive environment for its staff to provide qualityhealth care with heartfelt compassion.
Theorganization has a centralized structure of management. It,therefore, concentrates decision making among the management. Theoperations of the organization are in the responsibility of thementioned department, and they are tasked to provide direction forthe organization (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2011).
Theadvantages of this organizational structure consist of the following:Efficiency in making decisions due to the absence of cumbersomechannels of commands and ease of employee-employer interaction as aresult of well-defined channels of interaction. (Goldsmith, 2005)
Disadvantagesof the structure are that it is prone to negative effects of thelayers of bureaucracy. The owner might require a considerable amountof time to accomplish the task of decision making that can in turncause sluggishness in the operations of the business.
Thecentralized organization structure has enabled the management tosteer the organization to unprecedented success in the last severalyears. Such as is reflected in its balance sheets.No other healthfacility in the region has been able to match its service deliveryand operational brilliance. Clinical and nonclinical professionalshave been able to work harmoniously with each other as a result ofthe strict code of ethics drawn by management.
Therole of governance in this organization is to accord responsibilitiesto its employees and to make decisions that are geared to achievingsuccess for the organization (Swage, 2004) Rules are also set andobjectives set by the governing body .The effect on the day to dayoperations of the organization resulting from governance isstreamlined and efficient workforce.
